Business Development Manager, Ad-Media Vertical

BOLDstreet is an industry leading provider of innovative Wi-Fi software and services. Our technology powers some of the largest Wi-Fi networks in North America, including Starbuck’s, Second Cup, multiple major airports, hotels, campuses and health-care facilities in Canada; and a growing network in the USA. Our solutions focus on mobile users; those using smart-phones and related devices to connect to the internet and engage in activities beyond email. We focus on ‘free’ Wi-Fi networks; making them more strategic and valueable, by creating opportunities to build and maintain valueable relationships between users and brands.

We’re successful, innovative, profitable, aggressive and growing. We have a need for a Business Development Manager. This role is specifically focused on the ad-media vertical and, initially, on continuing to own and drive our success in powering Wi-Fi solutions into major networks North America. Our free Wi-Fi network solutions generate revenue from advertising placements and media sponsorships from key brands wanting to promote their products/solutions via Wi-Fi (among other revenue generating strategies). This driven person will be responsible for the full bus dev/sales cycle; from prospecting/cold calling, to qualifying, closing, negotiating, and so on. This person will help define ad/media solutions, product requirements, product packaging and pricing and compete head-on to continue our innovation and success in this vertical. This includes driving ad/media strategies to both traditional laptop devices and emerging mobile devices.

Sales activity will be carried out by phone and face-to-face with qualified leads. The Manager will develop, manage and track the success of partner relationships with ad aggregators (like JiWire) and mobile ad aggregators (like AdMob and Jumptap). The successful candidate will also develop relationships with ad/media agencies who own the relationships with brands that may be interesting in leveraging the unique opportunities available via public Wi-Fi. This will include working directly with brand owners.

Specific qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in results driven ad/media sales and strategy
  • Successful candidates will have experience in managing the full business development cycle
  • Experience selling ad/media solutions to Fortune 1000 companies
  • The successful candidate will be an independent thinker and worker, yet able to work in a technology team environment
  • A solid technical understanding of Wi-Fi networking and public access Wi-Fi solutions is highly desirable
  • Strong written and oral communications are a must; experience in communicating with customers, building and delivering presentations, writing collateral material, and building presentations and project proposals are critical

This role is specifically focused on the transportation vertical and, initially, on continuing to own and drive our success in powering Wi-Fi solutions into major and regional airports in North America. This driven person will be responsible for the full bus dev/sales cycle; from prospecting/cold calling, to qualifying, closing, negotiating, and so on. In addition, this person will help define airport solutions, product requirements, product packaging and pricing and compete head-on to continue our innovation and success in this vertical.

Sales activity will be carried out by phone and face-to-face with qualified leads. The representative will also be required to respond to RFP’s/RFI’s. Developing partner relationships where combined efforts will lead to success, is a key element of success for the position.

Specific qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a quota driven technology sales/business development capacity is a must
  • Successful candidates will have experience in managing the full sales cycle
  • Experience selling software solutions to Fortune 1000 companies and/or Regional/National Government organizations is highly desirable
  • The successful candidate will be an independent thinker and worker, yet able to work in a technology team environment
  • A solid technical understanding of Wi-Fi networking and public access Wi-Fi solutions is highly desirable; at a minimum, a software solutions technology sales background with a strong ability to learn
  • Strong written and oral communications are a must; experience in communicating with customers, building and delivering presentations, writing collateral material, and building RFP responses are critical

Technical Support Specialist

This is a FULL-TIME position

We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist with leadership potential for a Level 2 role in our organization. In this position, you will perform the day-to-day operations required to ensure maximum network availability and customer satisfaction. You will also have a key role in participating in strategic planning to develop and improve the Technical Services team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing public networks and monitoring systems.
  • Communicating with hotspot location owners and troubleshooting hotspot problems.
  • Performing hardware & software updates and configuration changes to wireless network equipment.
  • Managing the dispatch of technicians to new and existing locations that require installs or repairs.
  • Responding to inquiries from partners and clients (generally not end-users – we are not a call centre).
  • Generating reports.

The successful candidate will also be called upon to partake in and/or lead reviews of Support policies, processes, documentation and tools. This can include:

  • Documenting and maintaining procedures, call flows, and troubleshooting scripts.
  • Reviewing and iterating on processes and procedures.
  • Providing input into the development and review of measurement tools, such as KPI reports, which provide insight into the success and efficiency of Support processes.
  • Maintaining Support-related documents and data within a knowledge base.

Our networks are 24/7/365 operations. As this position comes with after-hours responsibilities, you will partake in a rotating on-call schedule.

The Ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Required:

  • Excellent communication (both oral and written).

  • Manage all associated server infrastructure
  • Work with the Development group on new application deployments
  • Design and configure settings for switches, routers and wireless controllers
